What are symptoms of a low pacemaker battery?

Monday, December 31st, 2007
radioguy078 asked:

My Mother has had the same single-lead pacemaker since 1993 and was just recently told the battery was low. Will be replaced in a few weeks but she is currently having symptoms of —-> chest pain, feeling faint, atrial fib. She had an ablation in August for AVRNT, went to ER and did CT Scan and CT Scan was normal. My question is What are the symptoms of a low pacemaker battery when everything else checks out normal? She was told a year ago (October 2005) battery was good for another 19 months.

Propranonol Oral, for my baby born with P.A.C?

Wednesday, December 26th, 2007
Jeannette C asked:

My baby was born 4 weeks premature with a heart disorder called PAC (Premature Atrial Contractions) and was put on .50 Propranonol SOL, so his heart won’t beat to 200 bpm. He’s been on it for since he was born ( 7 weeks old) and his hands gets very cold. Does anyone know about this condition or medication?

Reason for early induction??

Monday, December 24th, 2007
Crystal asked:

Just so you know, I am just shy of 36 weeks. My daughter has tachycardia (elevated heart rate) and Premature Atrial Contractions. When she comes out they’ll do an EKG to rule out any other heart abnormalities and treat those if they haven’t cleared up. Also, I am borderline with Gestational Diabetes (failed the first test and passed the second) and I have been dilated to a three for several weeks, now I am almost a four. Four centimeters is considered active labor right? Also, she is doing very well, she is “ripe” and at a healthy birth weight already. My doctor said something about maybe giving me an early induction. Not soon, I would be 37 or 38 weeks when they did it, but he said that certain circumstances make baby coming out a little early a better way to go. Would those circumstances be any of those? Is there a reason to induce early? I want her out of me and my mom will be visiting then and I want her here for the birth, I was just wondering why he might have brought it up.

Is it dangerous for me to be in an Eptopic Atrial Rythm??

Sunday, December 23rd, 2007
ilih2006 asked:

I am 32 with dialated cardiomypathy/Congestive heart failure (BNP 121 currently). I am on coreg, avapro, and HCTZ. I have been feeling fine until lately, i am tired, fatigued, sometimes feel like I’m going to faint when up for to long, and I’m so tired. I went to the ER and got an EKG and it says I’m in an Eptopic Atrial Rythm (which means my heart is not firing from the SA node.) but somewhere else in the artrium. I visited the cardioligist and he said he is not concerned because alot of people do just fine in this rythm….this is a new dr for me in my new home town, but my old caridologist in Hawaii said I feel this way because of the rythm. Does anyone know about this rythm? I have been reading online and found out that if your in this rythm it could mean the SA node in the heart is failing. Can someone help me to understand this? I would appreacite any information

How does a doctor determine a pac vs. a pvc on an ekg?

Tuesday, December 18th, 2007
May S asked:

I am a 29 year-old female with atrial fibrillation. No structural abnormality. Sometimes I get long runs of pacs, and one time an emergency room doctor told me he saw a couple of pvc’s as well. My own cardiologist says it’s a matter of interpretation, and that I might have had a type of pac that can sometimes look like a pvc. Has anyone else ever heard of this? I’m not that worried, just curious.
