What is premature atrial contractions and is it serious?

Thursday, February 14th, 2008
millerc3 asked:

I was just told that I have this condition following an EKG I had done. I’m only 24 years old and it scared me. I would like to know how serious it is and how likely it is for me to have blood clots and have a stroke (like I was told is very possible).

Tuesday, February 5th, 2008
Mr. Dunleavy asked:

I think I have both. When I was a baby, I mean. Any tips for me to stay healthy? I had surgery when I was like 7 months old. I have to go to the hospital every year for an EKG, and other tests.

need help diagnosing this ECG. Looking at V1 it looks like there could be atrial fibrillation or possibly multifocal atrial tachycardia. I cant seem to accurately tell. Also looking at V4 there is possible signs of blockage (also noted in V1)
you can zoom in on image by clicking the all sizes image, if this helps.
