Interventional Cardiology Fellowship?

I will be a med student very soon and was wondering what the track is to becomimg an interventional cardiologist. Ive heard that you do a residency in internal med and then a fellowship in interventional cardio. Is this true?
Definately not a genius. Just need some guidance from someone who knows something about it.
