CoNtRaCtIoNs?

Sunday, July 25th, 2010
NaVy WiFeY asked:

I am 27 weeks and 1 day, Yesterday I started having contractions. At first they were irregular then they became 6 minutes apart and were lasting about 40 seconds. They eventually stoped.
Since I have been up (6 hours) I have had 3 that were irregular and lasted about 15 seconds.
Should I be concerned? Everytime I call my doctor she tells me to go to the ER; however, I don’t feel I like I’m in labor!
Please help… with serious ansers & experience!!

How long after your first painful contractions did they start to get stronger?

Saturday, July 24th, 2010
Barefoot&Pregnant asked:

Looking for other people’s stories here: I’m just sitting here watching some TV, enjoying the feeling my increasing Braxton Hicks contractions which have never been painful. I started feeling the contractions WITH period like pain, and I thought: Contractions! I waited for them to get stronger, but it happened twice total, and now I’m just having regular Braxton Hicks. I’m wondering if I could still be potentially a week away, or if this means that real labor is pretty close, as in the next day or two. What has been your experience? (First babt, I’m 39 weeks)

When do real contractions start after having many Braxton Hicks?

Sunday, July 18th, 2010
Amber asked:

For the past couple of days I’ve been having a lot of Braxton Hicks contractions (it hurts only in the front and they are irregular) and it’s been more frequent today. My question is generally how much later do these BH contractions turn into real labor contractions? Can this go on for many more days or can it be hours? My doctor stripped my membranes yesterday and has set an induction date for me on the 21st April. I’m 39 wks pregnant today. Thanks!

Having painless contractions and increased pelvic pressure- Should I go to the hospital?

Wednesday, July 14th, 2010
nancyslp asked:

I am 37 weeks pregnant, and have been 2.5 cm dilated for the past 2 weeks. Two weeks ago, 70% efface, last week 90% and at +1 station. Over the past 24 hours, I have had dull back pain, painless contractions without a pattern and almost unbearable pelvic pressure. I’ve been told that you should not go to the hospital until contractions are patterened at 5 mins apart, or your water has broken. What to do?
