How long after your first painful contractions did they start to get stronger?

Looking for other people’s stories here: I’m just sitting here watching some TV, enjoying the feeling my increasing Braxton Hicks contractions which have never been painful. I started feeling the contractions WITH period like pain, and I thought: Contractions! I waited for them to get stronger, but it happened twice total, and now I’m just having regular Braxton Hicks. I’m wondering if I could still be potentially a week away, or if this means that real labor is pretty close, as in the next day or two. What has been your experience? (First babt, I’m 39 weeks)
