What are symptoms of a low pacemaker battery?

radioguy078 asked:

My Mother has had the same single-lead pacemaker since 1993 and was just recently told the battery was low. Will be replaced in a few weeks but she is currently having symptoms of —-> chest pain, feeling faint, atrial fib. She had an ablation in August for AVRNT, went to ER and did CT Scan and CT Scan was normal. My question is What are the symptoms of a low pacemaker battery when everything else checks out normal? She was told a year ago (October 2005) battery was good for another 19 months.

my guess would be arrythmia, a non consistent beating of the heart, but thats just a guess, i would ask a doctor

The normal life span of the batterie think she should have the battery chancged every to 10 yrs beyond.
