      Ventricular Contraction wave is longer, because;

      1) It shows the strength of your left ventricle as it move clean blood to the system. And having a thicker muscle in pump stronger as it contracts.
      Atrial contraction just move the blood to ventricles, and it has a thinner muscle than the ventricles.
